Police have provided details in their pursuit of a suspect after a worker at a convenience store was shot late Friday night at Vineyard Avenue in Yonkers.
Numerous units responded to 31 Vineyard Ave. at about 9:41 p.m. Friday on a report of shots fired. Inside of a deli/mini-mart store at that location, arriving units located a 46-year-old male Bronx resident with one gunshot wound to his leg from a shot that was fired on the street which went through a window of the store, police said.
The victim, who is an employee at the store, was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released, according to police.
Initial investigation indicates that the victim was not the intended target, police said. No other injuries have been reported in relation to this incident.
