Man Walking In Yonkers Shot In Back

YONKERS, N.Y. -- A local man was shot in the back while walking along Caryl Avenue just before 10 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Yonkers Police Department.

Police responded to 85 Bruce Ave., where they found a wounded 21-year-old man who told officers he had just been walking down Caryl Avenue when he heard gunshots and felt a sharp pain in his back, said Det. Lt. Patrick McCormack.

The man was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where he was treated and released several hours later, McCormack said.

Detectives are currently investigating the shooting, but no arrests have been made.
