Driver Plows Into Crowd In Yonkers Friday Night

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Several pedestrians were apparently struck by a car that plowed into a crowd at a Yonkers street fair Friday night.

Yonkers Police and emergency officials Friday night responded to McLean Avenue and McCollum Place after receiving a report of several pedestrians struck by a motorist.

A representative of the Yonkers Police Department told The Daily Voice Friday night that units were responding but it was too soon to know the extent of the incident. He said emergency officials were working at the scene.

LoHud.com reported that a car may have been driven into a crowd of people at about 9:10 p.m. at Coyne Park, where the Roman Catholic Church of St. Paul the Apostle was holding the second night of an annual fundraiser.
