2 Yonkers Men Charged In Multiple-Kilo Coke Bust

YONKERS, N.Y. – Two Yonkers men and their accomplices have been arrested after running a multiple-kilo cocaine operation that supplied dealers in Rockland County, prosecutors said Thursday.

The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office announced the charges after arresting the men as part of a drug investigation.

Prosecutors said the group operated their cocaine distribution ring out of a home at 525 Riverdale Ave. in Yonkers, organizing and supplying dealers in Haverstraw and Yonkers. Undercover officers bought drugs and conducted electronic and physical surveillance of the suspects, prosecutors said.

Multiple agencies worked on the investigation, officials said, including the Rockland County Drug Task Force, the New York State Police, federal agents, the Westchester County District Attorney’s Narcotics Bureau and Town of Haverstraw police.

The two Yonkers men arrested are Jimmy "Spells" Hernandez, 34, of 525 Riverdale Ave. and Ernest Ventura, 33, of 168 Radford St., Apt. 1.

Hernandez and Ventura were charged with first-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and one count each of first-degree and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree conspiracy, all felonies.

Hernandez was released on a court order, and Ventura was held on $80,000 bail.
