YONKERS, N.Y. Yolanda A. Lopez, a former longtime resident of Yonkers, died Sept. 3 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. She was 77.
Lopez was born Sept. 23, 1934, in Yonkers, and was a high school teacher for 40 years before retiring. She also lived in Lewis Center, Ohio, and Trumbull, Conn. She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church in Worthington, Ohio.
Lopez is survived by a son, Marc Lopez, of Lewis Center; a sister, Josephine Porcello, of Yonkers; two brothers, Carmine Aufiero, of Philadelphia, and Victor Aufiero, of Yonkers; and a granddaughter.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, at F. Ruggiero and Sons Funeral Home in Yonkers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, at St. Mary's Church in Yonkers. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers.
