YONKERS, N.Y. – Virginia "Jean" Monteleone Rizzuto of Yonkers died Nov. 23. She was 83.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1929 and worked as a teacher's aide at P.S. 16 in the Bronx, N.Y., for 27 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family and friends. She was married to Joseph Rizzuto Jr.
She is survived by a son, Joseph (Carol) Rizzuto; a sister, Anna Pasarelli; five grandchildren and five great-grandchuldren.
She was predeceased by her husband, and a brother, Jack Monteleone.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, at Sinatra Memorial Home in Yonkers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Church. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony's Bread Line and to the Red Cross for victims of Hurricane Sandy.
