YONKERS, N.Y. - Stelio R. Repola of Yonkers died Nov. 4. He was 89.
Repola was born Jan. 19, 1924, in the Bronx, son of Raffaele and Cesira Repola. He was a commercial artist by profession. He is especially remembered for two pieces: "Divine Mercy" which he donated to St. Anthony's church, and his 911 Firefighter's memorial which hangs in the Yonkers Public Library.
Repola is survived by his wife, Rose Repola; sister, Velia Langevin; children, Christine Rower, Richard Repola and Elena Trainor; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are Thursday, Nov. 7 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the Church of St. Anthony, Yonkers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
