Robert T. McSpedon, 81, Of Yonkers, Retired Operating Engineer, Local #137

YONKERS, N.Y. - Robert T. McSpedon of Yonkers died Saturday, Nov. 29. He was 81.

McSpedon was born June 27, 1933, to William and Elizabeth (Galvaile) McSpedon in Hastings-on-Hudson, where he was raised and graduated from Hastings High School and attended SUNY Farmingdale. He was an operating engineer for Local #137 in Westchester for over 40 years; retiring in 1995. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the Third Order of Secular Franciscans. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Korean War.

McSpedon is survived by his daughters, Mary (Michael) Jorgenson of St. Petersburg, Fla., Elizabeth (Michael Larkin) McSpedon of Bethpage, L.I., and Ann McSpedon of Yonkers; five grandsons; and brother, William McSpedon. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances; brother, Jack; and sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Petrone.

Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 5 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 6 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
