YONKERS, N.Y. - Rita C. Damiano of Yonkers died Oct. 14. She was 82.
Damiano was born to John and Catherine Basso Damiano. She was a graduate of Hunter College, where she received her masters degree in education. She was a school teacher for many years in The Yonkers School System and St. Claire's School in the Bronx. She was a member of the Audobahn Society and an animal lover.
Damiano is survived by her niece, Victoria Capone (Leonard Froio); two great nephews; brother-in-law, Nicholas Capone. She was predeceased by five brothers; and sisters.
Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 18 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Flower Funeral Home Inc., 714 Yonkers Ave. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at St. John the Baptist. Interment at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
