Richard Salvatore, 70, Lifelong Yonkers Resident

YONKERS, N.Y. – Richard Salvatore, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died Dec. 6 after a nine-year battle with multiple myeloma. He was 70.

Born Feb. 22, 1942, he was the son of Bernard and Mary Vitulli Salvatore. He was an avid classic car enthusiast and restorer, winning many awards for his expertise.

Salvatore is survived by his wife, Ellen Benisatto Salvatore; four children, Richard Jr., Bettylou, Laura and Nicole Salvatore; two brothers, Ronald (Alice) Salvatore and Bernard (Cheryl) Salvatore; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Bettylou Castignoli Salvatore.

Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Sinatra Memorial Home in Yonkers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ann's Church in Yonkers. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
