YONKERS, N.Y. -- Richard L. Hayes, of Yonkers, died on Sunday, July 5. He was 75.
Hayes was born on Jan. 11, 1940, to Thomas and Mildred (Bell) Hayes in Chase City, Va.
He moved to the area and worked as a security guard for Summit Security in Hartsdale.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel (Tuthill) Hayes, six children; Gregory, Jeffery, Anthony, Leewan, Sylvia and Gwendolyn, 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brothers Harry and Sylvester, and sisters Annie, Barbara, Renell and Dean.
Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday, July 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a funeral service set for Saturday at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at Ferncliff Chapel.
