YONKERS, N.Y. -- Rebecca "Betty" Pickover, a long-time resident of Yonkers, died on Sept. 20 at Bayside Manor in Keansburg, N.J. She was 93.
She was a resident of Yonkers for many years, most recently residing at 5 Star Classic Residence. She was active in many activities, including Senior Kids, the Community Relations Committee, the Yonkers Public Library, and was given the honor of being Mayor for a Day.
She was the last surviving child of Albert and Sultana Abravanel, who emigrated to America from Turkey in the early 1900s.
Betty was predeceased by her husband William Pickover and her long-time companion Otto Beck.
