YONKERS, N.Y. Rachel Mary Cerasuolo Aquilino of Salem Hills Nursing Home in Purdys died Wednesday, July 18. A former Yonkers resident, she was 87.
Born Sept. 8, 1924, in Yonkers, she was the daughter of Gaetano and Angelina Cerasuolo. In addition to raising a family, Aquilino worked at Clairol and was a part-time cafeteria aide for the Yonkers Board of Education. She enjoyed crocheting, watching the New York Yankees and going out to dinner with her family.
Her husband, Lawrence J. Aquilino, predeceased her. Rachel Aquilino is survived by two sons, Lawrence G. Aquilino and Thomas G. (Allison Montovelli) Aquilino; and two grandchildren. She was also predeceased by four sisters, Anna Ranellone, Margaret Cerasuolo, Josephine Vece and Dolores De Palma.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Sinatra Memorial Home in Yonkers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
