Louis A. Salamone, 91, Of Yonkers, WWII Veteran

YONKERS, N.Y. - Louis A. Salamone of Yonkers died Nov. 30. He was 91.

Salamone was born May 22, 1922, in New York City, to Rosario and Marie Salamone. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World Wafrom 1942 to 1946. He retired from the NYC Department of Sanitation. He was a member of the Scarsdale Elks Lodge for 30 years and was the co-founder of the Eastchester Athletic Baseball Club, and was a manager in the league for 45 years.

Salamone is survived by his wife, Pauline (Leonardo) Salamone; children, Louis (Valerie) Salamone, Rosanne (Tom O'Neill), Donna (Bruce DeSimini); four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Calling hours are Monday, Dec. 2 at F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., 732 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY 10704 (914) 375-1400. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at St. John the Baptist Church with interment to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery (Nanuet).
