Leo D. Lipman, 99, Yonkers Resident

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Leo David Lipman, 99, died Saturday, Sept. 5. 

He was born to Benjamin and Fannie (Gorodetsky) Lipman.

He was a U.S. Army captain, a WWII veteran, an ice cream maker, and a woodworker.

He is survived by his children, David Lipman, James Lipman, Melinda Frandix, and Jonathan Lipman. and sisters, Elizabeth Schwartz and Shirley Brooslin; and grandchildren, William Tanis, Robert Tanis, Roy Frandix, Brett Lipman, Rebecca Lipman, Richard Lipman, Mary Smith, and Karla Lipman; and and great-grandchildren of Abigail Tanis, Madison Tanis, Jack Tanis, Robert Tanis Jr., and Arwen Frandix. 

He was predeceased by his wife Betti C. (Loeb) Lipman; and sisters Rose Rigberg, Jeannette Block, and Dorothy Lipman. 

Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Flynn Memorial Home, 325 S. Broadway. Yonkers.

Funeral service is at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Hawthorne.
