Sica was born October 6, 1932, to Sabato and Anna (Bifolco) Sica in Salerno, Italy. From 1950 to 1956 he served as a carabinieri or Italian policeman in Sicily. In 1957 he came to the United States and settled in Yonkers. For many years along with his family he owned and operated D&D Garden Center on Tuckahoe Rd. retiring in 2008.
Sica is survived by his children, Joseph Sica Jr., Anna M. Sica and Pat (Lisa) Sica; six grandchildren; siblings, Americo, Antonio, Gerardo Sica, Annamaria Rega; and his longtime companion, Rosa Sorvillo and her children Michael and Antoinette Palanca.. He was predeceased by his wife, Dina Incalcaterra; and siblings, Luigi, Vincenzo and Alfonso Sica.
Calling hours are Thursday, April 18 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19 at St. Ann Church.. Entombment Ferncliff Mausoleum.
