Joseph Molenda, 67, Of Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. - Joseph Molenda of Yonkers died July 21. He was 67.

Molenda was born Jan. 5, 1946, in Swilcza, Poland, he immigrated to the United States in 1970 and settled in Yonkers, working multiple jobs at a time, at Phelps Dodge, Knight Motor Freight, Marcal Papers, then, eventually working for General Motors for over 30 years. He relocated from Yonkers after the plant closure to the Youngstown, Ohio plant in 1995 and remained there until 2011.

Molenda is survived by his wife, Janina (nee Szybisty); daughters, Donna (Michael) Didyk, Christine (Stanley) Zieminski; and three grandchildren. Calling hours are Tuesday, July 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home, Yonkers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 24 at St. Casimir's Church, Nepperhan Ave., Yonkers. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
