Joseph J. Rubeo, 76, Of Yonkers, Owned Race Horse Stables

YONKERS, N.Y. - Joseph J. Rubeo, a lifetime Yonkers resident, died April 10. He was 76.

Rubeo was born March 20, 1937, to Peter A. and Angelina (Tartaglione) Rubeo.

Rubeo was an entrepreneur. In the 1950s, along with other family members, he purchased the lease for Indian Point Amusement Park and operated many concessions there. He was the co-owner of Hasting Mfg. and R&J Novelty. Under the name Joe Rubeo Stables, he owned and raced standard-bred horses in Yonkers and Monticello.

Rubeo is survived by his children, DonnaMarie Paladino, Joseph (Brandi) Rubeo, Jr. and Jennifer Ann (Bob) Kliegl; brother, John (Betty) Rubeo and Peter (Sharon) Rubeo Jr.; four grandchildren; fiancee, Paula Lumalcuri; former spouse,  Anne Marie Rubeo and Marie Kennedy; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14  from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. Funeral Mass at St. Ann Church Monday, April 15 at 11 a.m.  followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the ASPCA (HSUS) or the World Wildlife Fund.
