John F. Del Bene, 80, Of Yonkers, Owned Palmer Dairy

YONKERS, N.Y. - John F. Del Bene, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, died Oct. 29. He was 80.

Del Bene was born in Yonkers to Victoria and Donato in 1933. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict he returned from Kansas to Yonkers where he began a career in construction. In 1977 he left construction and opened a family business the Palmer Dairy which served the community for 31 years.

Del Bene is survived by his children, Donna (Edward) Ryan, John (Micki), Lauren Sangalli, Donato (Maura) and Pamela (Stephen) Capalbo; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Anthony P. Del Bene.

A Celebration of Del Bene’s life will be held Friday, Nov. 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at The Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. Eastchester, and at St. Bartholomew''s Church Saturday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m., with entombment to follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum.
