YONKERS, N.Y. Howard E. Ackerman of Yonkers died Oct. 4. He was 83.
He was born in Yonkers to Clarence and Mae Gizey Ackerman. He served in the Army during World War II and later worked as a letter carrier in Westchester.
Ackerman is survived by his wife, Betty; a daughter, Rea; a son-in-law, Dennis; and two grandsons.
Visitation and a funeral service were held Monday at Flynn Memorial Home in Yonkers. Interment took place Tuesday.
