YONKERS, N.Y. – Helen Porubek, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, died Jan. 26. She was 94.
Porubek was born Nov. 3, 1918, to William and Theresa Pataczek Jakubik. She attended local schools and graduated from Yonkers High School. She enjoyed line-dancing and playing bingo.
She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Ventura; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Martin Porubek; a son, Frank William Porubek; and three siblings, Ann, Joseph and Frank.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Duchynski-Cherko Funeral Home in Yonkers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Casimir's Church in Yonkers. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers.
