George Victor Quartucio, 85, Of Yonkers, Received WWII Victory Medal

YONKERS, N.Y. - George Victor Quartucio died April 10. He was 85.

Quartucio was born Oct. 25, 1927, in Yonkers, son of George and Dorothy (Whiting) Quartucio. He  was a veteran of WWII and served as an airman with the U.S. Navy from 1946-48 in Pensacola, Fla. He received the World War II Victory Medal.

Quartucio worked at Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. in Mt. Vernon and retired as plant manager in 1990.

Quartucio was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church and a former Scoutmaster for Troop #49 at St. Augustine's from 1965-1971.

Quartucio is survived by sons, George, John (Joan), Michael (Suzanne), and Gerald; sisters, Elvira Pisco and Peggy (Louie) DiLoretto; seven grandchildren; and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie Ann.

Calling hours will be held Friday, April 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 13 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church. Interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
