George K. Abraham, 84, Of Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. – George K. Abraham, a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Tuesday, June 30, at St. John's Riverside Hospital. He was 84.

Abraham was born on Feb. 20, 1931, to George and Genevieve Ashkar Abraham in Brooklyn and was raised and educated in Jordan.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a self-employed general contractor, running the 259-261 Riverdale Realty Corporation in Yonkers until retiring.

He is survived by his wife, Jocanda Kayal, three sons, Joseph, James and Anthony, daughter Rita, sister Mary Richards of Las Vegas, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Leila Kayal, son George Jr., brother Jawdat, and sister Georgette Dillan.

Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church on Friday at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
