YONKERS, N.Y. -- Genevieve L. Tortorelli, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 23. She was 96.
She was born to Walter and Stella Skistmas who emigrated from Lithuania.
Tortorelli attended St. Mary's School and Commerce High School and worked for many years in the travel department of Sears Roebuck in New York City.
Her work gave her the opportunity to travel the world which she enjoyed.
Her husband, Dr. August S. Tortorelli, died in 1991. She was also predeceased by her sister Adele Klint.
She is survived by a niece Judith (John) Tigner and a nephew Jack (Chris) Klint.
Visitation is Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Flynn Memorial Home on South Broadway.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, South Broadway in Yonkers. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
