Francis Fandel, 83, Yonkers Resident

YONKERS, N.Y. – Francis William Fandel, of Yonkers, died Saturday, March 26. He was 83.

He was born Feb. 13, 1933, in Yonkers, to Frank and Lilly (Williams) Fandel. 

He was married on May 3, 1958 to Barbara (Tunnard) Fandel.

Prior to his retirement from Steamfitters Local 543 (21), he served his country in the U.S. Army as a military policeman stationed in Korea. His hobbies included landscaping, gardening, plumbing and heating, of which he was a subject matter expert in all three.

He is survived by his wife, his children, Kathleen and Jesse Seminara, Susan and Joseph Salvo, James and Linda Fandel, and Robert Fandel and his fianceé, Marcy Colon; grandchildren, Garrett and Jillian Seminara, William, Dana and Christopher Salvo, Ashley and Ryan Fandel, Brittney and Brandon Duntz, and Sean Fandel; step-grandchildren, Shawn, Samantha and Lee Colon; his sister, Sandra, and her husband, Edward Gorman.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Flynn Memorial Home, 1652 Central Park Ave.,Yonkers. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Yonkers.
