Elizabeth Miksad, 94, Lifelong Yonkers Resident

YONKERS, N.Y. - Elizabeth Miksad (nee Baranek), a lifelong resident of Yonkers, died Saturday, Jan. 11. She was 94.

Miksad was born Nov. 2, 1919, to Stephen and Anna (Marechek) Baranek. She attended local schools and graduated from Commerce High School. She worked at the Love Dress Co. and McKesson-Robbins. She was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Miksad is survived by her son, George (Melanie) Miksad; daughter, Betty Ann Miller; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Samuel Miksad; sister, Ann; brothers, Stephen, John and Paul; and son-in-law, Scott.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Duchynski-Cherko Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
