YONKERS, N.Y. – Edward Bento, 90, a veteran formerly of Yonkers, died Dec. 15, 2012.
Born Aug. 13, 1922, in Yonkers, he was son of Joseph and Maria Roza Bento.
His wife, Georgietta Shaefer Bento, predeceased him. Survivors include sons and daughters Edward (Maureen) Bento, Tucky Bento, Gigi (Dave) Almeida and Mary (James) Rusciano; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Wednesday at St. Columba Church, Hopewell Junction, and was followed by burial with military honors at St. Mary's Cemetery, Yonkers. Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Please visit www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
