YONKERS, N.Y. – Edna Ormond Di Fiore, formerly of Yonkers, died with her children at her bedside Wedensday, March 4, in Raleigh, N.C. She was 88.
Di Fiore was born in Yonkers on March 25, 1926. She worked for the Yonkers Public Schools and became an Civil Service Employees Association union representative.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward, her parents, one brother and four sisters. She is survived by her children, Eileen Slade and her husband, Dan; Patti Montanarella and her partner, Terry Thayer; Edward Di Fiore Jr. and his wife, Karen; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
A memorial service is set for St. Joseph's Cemetery on Friday, April 24, at 11 a.m.
