YONKERS, N.Y. – Dorothy R. Fitzgerald, a lifetime resident of Yonkers, died at her son's home on Monday, July 20. She was 93.
Fitzgerald was born on Aug. 28, 1921, to Daniel and Minnie (Travora) Hurley in Yonkers.
She worked as a librarian at St. John's Hospital Nursing School and as an elevator inspector for Otis Elevator.
Fitzgerald is survived by her son, Daniel, two sisters, Madeline Langan and Helen Burke; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel, and two sisters, Mary Vanscoy and Louise Holland.
Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Church on Friday at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
