YONKERS, N.Y. - Dolores Dolan (nee Tierney), a former resident of Yonkers, died Aug. 26. She was 95.
Dolan born Feb. 6, 1919, in New York City, to Patrick and Gertrude Ryan Tierney. Raised in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, she attended St. Margaret's School and Walton High School, graduating in 1936. Her first job after school was typing social security cards for the newly established Social Security Administration. After her marriage, she was a homemaker. She was a parishioner at St. Margaret's, St. Eugene's in Yonkers, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ardsley, and St. Joseph's in Bronxville.
Dolan is survived by her children, Patricia Manning (John), Paul Dolan (Betsy), Deirdre Mone (Michael), all of Yonkers, Francis Dolan (Marlene) of Manhattan, Kan., and Sean Dolan of New Rochelle; 10 grandsons; and a granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis J. Dolan; and son, Kevin.
Calling hours are Friday, Aug. 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Flynn Memorial Home Inc., 1652 Central Park Ave., Yonkers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 at Annunciation R.C. Church, Crestwood. Interment will follow at the Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
