Deborah Jenkins, 59, Lifelong Yonkers Resident

YONKERS, N.Y. – Deborah "Debbie" Ann Jenkins, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died Nov. 23. She was 59.

Jenkins was born July 4, 1953, in West Point, N.Y., to Alfred Jenkins Sr. and Sylvia Cozart. She attended Yonkers public schools and graduated from Commerce High School as a fashion design major.

She received a bachelor’s degree from Iona College in New Rochelle and worked as a payroll supervisor for Westchester County for more than 30 years. She worked at several locations, including JOBTRAC in White Plains and the Department of Correction in Valhalla.

Before retiring in 2010, Jenkins worked as an administrative assistant for the Department of Social Services in Mount Vernon. She enjoyed reading, traveling, skiing and shopping with family and friends.

Jenkins is survived by a son, Carl Lee Green Jr.; a nephew she raised, Robert Snead; her father; her stepmother, Shirley Jenkins; four brothers, Alfred Jenkins Jr., Tyrone Jenkins, Roosevelt Keyes and Carl "Chubby" (Tonya) Jenkins; two sisters, Crystal Cardwell and Phyllis Stewart; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her mother and a sister, Alfreda Wells.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Sinatra Memorial Home in Yonkers. A home going service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Yonkers.
