YONKERS, N.Y. - Claire B. Carson, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died Monday, June 17. She was 94.
Carson was born Dec. 3, 1918, in Yonkers, to Edwin and Sadie Beckmeyer. She was involved in the Yonkers community having served as a board member of the YWCA and as volunteer at the former Yonkers General Hospital. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Carson is survived by her daughter, Janet L. (Howard) Huth; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Warren "Kit" Carson,
Calling hours are Thursday, June 20 from 4 to 8 p.m at F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., 732 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY 10704 - (914) 375-1400. Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Yonkers.
