Christian C. Kopp, 92, Of Yonkers, Worked For DeLackner Helicopters, Inc.

YONKERS, N.Y. - Christian C. Kopp of Yonkers died July 12. He was 92.

Kopp was born in North Castle, to Christian C. and Mae Kopp. He attended Yonkers schools and was a graduate of Saunders Trade and Technical High School. Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and fought in World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater as a carpenter’s mate first class. After serving his time in the Navy, he worked at DeLackner Helicopters, Inc. for over 40 years as a machinist foreman.  He also served as a test pilot for DeLackner’s one-man helicopter during the 1950’s.

Kopp is survived by his daughter, Karen (Robert) Crimmins; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Beverly (Lichtenberg); and second wife, Geraldine (Kernan).

Calling hours are Tuesday, July 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., 732 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY 10704 (914) 375-1400.  A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson.
