YONKERS, N.Y. - Catherine C. Hafele, lifelong Yonkers resident, died July 6. She was 100.
Hafele was the daughter of Jacob and Mary (nee Reilly) Hafele. She worked for many years as the secretary of the Workers Compensation Board of N.Y. State. She was a longtime board member of St. Joseph's Medical Center in Yonkers. She was also involved in many other local charitable organizations.
Hafele is survived by several cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Sophie Haefele; and brother, Joseph Hafele.
Calling hours Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Flynn Memorial Home, on South Broadway. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 10 at Saint Joseph's Church in Bronxville. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson.
