Bartolomeo Pacifico, 92, Former Yonkers Market Manager

YONKERS, N.Y. – Bartolomeo Pacifico formerly of Yonkers, died Dec. 4 at Doylestown Hospital in Pennsylvania. He was 92.

Born in San Bartolomeo di Galdo, Italy, to Francesco and Grazia Iannantuono Pacifico, his family came to the United States in 1933 and settled in the Bronx. He lived in Yonkers for many years before moving to Doylestown. Pa., four years ago.

Bartolomeo Pacifico worked as a grocer in Yonkers. He owned and operated Ben's Market and Ben and Mary's Delicatessen. He later worked as a manager of several large supermarkets in the Yonkers area. He retired 15 years ago. A veteran of World War II, Pacifico served in Europe with the U.S. Army.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Marcantonio Pacifico; and a brother, Anthony Pacifico. He is survived by three children, Linda A. (Philip) Florio of Hastings-on-Hudson, Frank L. (Lenora) Pacifico of Warwick, Pa., and Grace (Kilian) Currey of Brewster, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Ann Pacifico; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lambertville, N.J. Entombment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley, N.Y. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday at Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home in Lambertville.
