YONKERS, N.Y. - Anna (Schmahai) Korin, a longtime Yonkers resident, died Wednesday, July 10. She was 87.
Korin was born in Ukraine and resettled in Germany during World War II. After her marriage, she came with her husband to the United States in the early 1950s.
Korin is survived by her children, Irene Korin (Ed) Collins, Orysia Korin (Frank) Giorgi and Roman Korin and his fiance Patty Scaife; sister-in-law, Mary Schmahai; and her nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore Korin; three brothers; and a sister.
Calling hours are Friday, July 12, from from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yonkers Funeral Service, 107 Yonkers Ave., with Panahyda Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson.
