YONKERS, N.Y. - Amelia M. Warian of Yonkers died Saturday, March 15. She was 92.
Warian was born April 25, 1921, in Ansonia, Conn., to Nicholas and Katherine Yacawy Warian. She moved to Yonkers where she was raised and attended local schools. She was a retired administrative assistant for Westchester County. She was active in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Warian is survived by her sister, Dorothy Pisarchik; many nieces, nephews; great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Peter Warian; and sisters, Mary Wesson, Julia Warian, Rose Hlushko and Helen Tomaszewski.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday March 18 at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Warian's name to St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 21 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY 10703.
