YONKERS, N.Y. – A Yonkers-based realty firm has received money from the state for its plans at turning a neighborhood in the city into an arts district, according to News 12.
RJ Rose Realty received a $500,000 capital grant to help turn properties they own on Nepperhan Avenue in Yonkers into a space for commercial use and for local artists, News 12 said.
The company plans to rename the area the Yonkers Carpet Mills Arts District, reported News 12.
Company holdings include the former Alexander Smith carpet facility and the Weaving Building, News 12 noted.
