Police said they responded to the two-car accident in the southbound lanes at about 4:10 a.m. Both vehicles involved in the crash, a 1998 red BMW and a 1994 blue Saturn, were southbound when they made contact with one another then struck the guide rail before both overturning on the west shoulder, police said.
The operator and sole occupant of the BMW, Mohammad Al-Saraireh, 25, of Yonkers, sustained internal injuries. The operator of the blue Saturn, Joshua Trotman, 24, of Queens, suffered a broken leg and his passenger received minor facial lacerations.
All three were taken to Westchester County Medical Center for treatment.
The cause of the collision still is being investigated. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the State Police Hawthorne barracks at 914-769-2600.
