The new Inspector General is a member of numerous community and civic organizations in Yonkers. McGrath said that he plans to hold both the Mayor's office and the Council City to the same exacting standard that he would any city agency.
Council President McLaughlin said that McGrath shares his vision for an independent and impartial Office of the Inspector General.
Inspector General McGrath spent ten years as counsel to former Assemblyman Ron Tocci, served as Deputy Westchester County Clerk from 2006 to 2007 and did two stints with the Westchester County Attorney's Office.
He most recently served as first deputy corporation counsel for the City.
"Having worked with Brendan McGrath as first deputy corporation counsel and seen his work ethic and integrity, I am confident that he will do as equally as great a job as our inspector general," Majority Leader John Larkin said in a statement.
Deputy Commissioner Soderquist was educated in Sweden and holds an MBA from Fordham University. He spent the last twelve years with NASDAX OMX, where he served as Director of Global IT Services from 2011-2013.
He is fluent in multiple computer programming languages, across different operating systems and is knowledgeable in the specification, development, testing, installation, operating and repair of databases and computer systems.
