Yonkers Cabbie Injured In Violent Carjacking; Reward Offered

YONKERS, N. Y. -- The state organization representing taxi cab drivers is offering a $3,000 reward for help in finding the person responsible for a Wednesday, March 23 stabbing and carjacking in Yonkers that left a cab driver in critical condition, according to News 12.

Police say 40-year-old driver Cristian Amparo picked up a rider around 6 p.m. on North Broadway. An argument broke out in the car, and the rider stabbed the driver in the face and neck, then took off with the car, News 12 says.

As Amparo is treated at Westchester Medical Center, members of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers are trying to find justice, News 12 reports.
