YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers Police closed off Morningside Avenue for several hours on Thursday to investigate a bomb threat that ultimately proved to be a false alarm, according to LoHud.com.
Yonkers police emergency services and the Yonkers fire department were dispatched to the area on Morningside Avenue near Fariview Street in response to a bomb threat involving one of the apartment complexes in the area that was called in, according to LoHud.com.
Local authorities kept the section of Morningside Avenue closed from approximately 10:50 p.m. on Thursday until 2 a.m. on Friday, when they determined that the threat was a false alarm, LoHud.com reported.
