Sunshine Foundation Surprises Yonkers Child With Visit To Theme Parks

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Sunshine Foundation, a wish-granting organization, presented Jaylene Rodriguez, a Fern Cliff Manor student, with her dream of visiting the Florida theme parks.

Rodriguez is 13 years old and has Down syndrome. 

Bearing balloons, Mickey doll and Sponge Bob, Fern Cliff Manor staff and Sunshine Foundation President Kate Sample will reveal to Rodriguez and her family that they will be visiting DisneyWorld, Universal Studios and Legoland, compliments of Sunshine Foundation on Tuesday, Sept. 16. 

During its five-day trip, the family will stay at the Sunshine Foundation’s Dream Village, a fully handicap accessible vacation destination for special children and their families.

While there, the family will enjoy a pool, miniature golf course and playground. 

The Sunshine Foundation is a 37-year-old charitable organization with a mission to answer the dreams of chronically ill, physically challenged and abused children ages 3 to 18.
