Nolan, a 23-year-old baseball prospect drafted in 2014 by the Oakland Athletics, died on Oct. 9, 2015 -- less than a month after suffering serious injuries in a drive-by shooting outside a Burger King on Central Park Avenue in Yonkers.
On Saturday, the Michael Nolan Memorial Softball Tournament was held to raise money for a college scholarship named after Nolan, according to News 12, which reported that 200 people attended the event.
All money raised Saturday will benefit the scholarship fund, which this year awarded two, $500 scholarships to college-bound students from Saunders High School, according to News 12.
In March, four men -- Nashaun Hunter, Garth O'Neil Cole, Darren Dawson and Tejmitra Singh -- were formally charged in connection with the fatal shooting.
Hunter, the suspected trigger man, faces a second-degree murder charge while the others each face counts of first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Three of the four men are expected to plead guilty in court on Wednesday, according to News 12.
