The practices chose to participate in the Halloween Candy Buy Back Program to help parents limit the amount of candy their child keeps after Halloween, while also educating them on preventative care for their teeth, and the experience of giving to a great cause to support our troops.
The practices also sent hand-written letters and pictures to the troops from the children who donated their Halloween candy.
Operation Gratitude annually sends more than 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. military members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind and to veterans, first responders, wounded warriors and their caregivers. Its mission is to lift morale, bring a smile to a service member’s face and express to our Armed Forces the appreciation and support of the American people.
