Collins was born Jan. 26, 1931, in the Bronx, N.Y., to Peter and Marie Kerin Collins. He was vice president of Ullico in Washington, D.C., for more than 20 years until his retirement in 1986.
He remained active with the alumni of his alma maters, Regis High School and Fordham University. He also enjoyed golf and tennis with friends.
Collins is survived by his wife, Helen McGowan Collins; four children, Anne (John) Meyer, Marie (Russell) Wasp, Mark (Kathy) Collins and Richard (Kathy) Collins; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Peter Collins.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Flynn Memorial Home in Yonkers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m., Thursday, at St. Eugene's Church in Yonkers. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of America.
