The event on Sunday, Aug. 7, at the Empire City Casino featured more than 450 people and was organized by Pat Quinn of Yonkers, who has ALS, according to lohud.com.
The Ice Bucket Challenge, which began in 2014, has so far raised more than $220 million for ALS research, according to lohud.com.
The Yonkers event, now in its second year, involved 2,000 pounds of ice, Quinn told lohud.com. All money raised was donated to Quinn for the Win, which supports Quinn’s care as well as nonprofit ALS research, the media outlet reported.
