Schools Superintendent Edwin Quezada announced that the building at One Larkin will be closed from Friday, Oct. 30 through Tuesday, Nov. 3 after two staff members who work at the Board of Education received notifications of the positive tests.

Officials said that the decision to close the offices was made after consulting with the county Department of Health. Anyone who may have been exposed has been instructed to enter a temporary quarantine as health officials continue contact tracing.

Custodial crews have been brought in to sanitize and clean the building, which will reopen on Wednesday, Nov. 4.

In an alert from the school district, officials said that after consulting with the Health Department, the Yonkers Public Library Riverfront Branch and the voting in the library atrium will remain open to the public, as there is no co-mingling of the staffs between the Board of Education and the Library.
