Leggat was seriously injured earlier this year when she was pushed in front of a Metro-North train at the White Plains station. The RTOW is helping raise money for the White Plains resident who is also a member of ROTW, according to a press release. The concert begins at 3 p.m., Saturday, at the Yonkers Public Library at the Grinton I. Will Branch at 1500 Central Park Ave. in Yonkers, according to the release.

"Maya, 21, is a straight-A student Hunter College and violinist with the RTOW," representatives said in the release. "She miraculously survived the assault but sustained serious injuries to her legs and now faces a long and difficult road to recovery. All monies raised will go directly to help support Maya’s recovery."

The concert program is set to include selections from Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Grieg, Bizet and Rogers & Hammerstein and will be followed by a reception open to all concert attendees, according to the release.

The RTOW is a nonprofit "classical orchestra made up of 45 amateur musicians under the baton of professional conductor Nathaniel Chase," according to the release.

"Anyone unable to attend the benefit concert but who wishes to contribute to help this brave young woman’s recovery can donate online," representatives said in the release.

Donations can be made at Care 4 Maya.com or by sending a check to the Maya Fund-The Really Terrible Orchestra to Jules Becker, RTOW Treasurer, 35 Tennyson St., Hartsdale, N.Y. 12601.
