Steven Tyler, the frontman for the iconic Aerosmith, turned 65 on Tuesday.

Even into his elder years, Tyler is showing no signs of slowing down as he and his band are set to begin their ‘Global Warming World Tour’ later this spring.

But before Tyler led Aerosmith to global recognition, he walked this way – in Yonkers.

Born Steven Tallarico in 1948, Tyler moved to Yonkers when he was nine. After making his way through the public schools, he was expelled from Roosevelt High School shortly before graduation after being caught with marijuana, The Journal News reported in 2011.

Eventually, Tyler met up with Bronx drummer Joey Kramer and together, along with three other Aerosmith members, they have achieved musical fame.

Tyler was eventually named one of Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Singers and in 2001 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
